Fiberglass-reinforced plastic side plates provide a compact block with very high strength at a very low weight. The discs rotate over high-quality ball bearings in a recessed ball track to minimize friction. The ball bearings, disks and side plates of the block contain carbon powder for excellent protection against UV radiation.
